Halfway Home Christian Residence

Halfway Home Christian Residence (HHCR) is a fully recognized 501 c (3) public charity in Pensacola, Florida, founded by Richard and Katherine Hardy in 2016, to help with the overwhelming need for women’s transitional housing in Escambia county. With your help, we are fully operational as ofJanuary 2017, as an eight bed facility that gives women who are working to overcome addiction, a safe, hope-filled, and loving place to become healthy, responsible, and productive members of society. As Christians we believe in the infinite power of Jesus Christ’s love and mercy and the ability of His Indwelling Spirit to forever alter lives. At HHCR, we display and teach His way of love in confidence that each and every woman we bring in will choose to believe and allow God’s Holy Spirit to transform her life forever.

Our mission at HHCR, is to offer a structured program which provides basic necessities, fosters accountability and teaches the life management skills needed for a fruitful life. Residence at HHCR will include all basic amenities, three cooked meals each day, laundry facilities, strictly monitored computer and internet access, as well as transportation assistance. Residents will be offered affordable group and one on one counseling, to effectively deal with and heal from their past traumas and experiences. They will be coached and mentored in job readiness skills in preparation for employment and will be networked with local business and community leaders to help find sustainable careers. All clients will be required to attend and become active participants in weekly support groups tailored to their individual needs. Sunday church services will be attended as a group and will be mandatory. Each resident will have an individual account, where all income will be deposited. This account will be managed by HHCR, teaching each client to be fiscally responsible and to save toward her new life as a financially independent woman upon the completion of her stay at HHCR.

 God put this beautiful and inspiring task upon our hearts, and we are unable to do it alone. These hurting, hopeless, and lost women are in need of your help and kindness.
