Hallie Crozier’s Journey

Donation protected

Wednesday, October 30, 2024...the day after Hallie's 20th birthday became a life changing day for Hallie, her family, and her friends. Upon completing a team workout and preparing for her morning class, Hallie started to feel a strong headache beginning. While preparing to leave, the headache increased and she was sitting on the edge of her bed contemplating going to class. A very aware friend who ran back into their apartment to grab a backpack noticed the abnormal actions of Hallie. When questioned, Hallie explained the extreme pain. This friend was extremely concerned, but Hallie was insistent that she could go to class. The friend agreed but only if he could drive her to class. On the way to class the headache became worse and both Hallie and her friend knew they had to go to the emergency.

Upon arrival at Big Rapids hospital the amazing staff recognized that Hallie needed to get a CT scan immediately. Unfortunately as she was receiving her CT scan, Hallie coded and required CPR which quickly brought her back. Based on their assessment, they felt that Hallie was having a brain bleed and determined that she needed to get to Grand Rapids for more immediate and extensive care.

Hallie was airlifted to Grand Rapid Corewell Heatlth Butterworth Hospital and was immediately taken into surgery. Hallie underwent a 3 hour craniectomy surgical procedure to remove a portion of her skull to relieve pressure on her brain.

This was the intial trauma, and the 1st step to recovery.

There is a long road ahead for Hallie and the rest of her family, no matter what that road looks like. The Crozier family is the first to help whenever someone is in need. They are constantly donating to worthwhile causes and now it’s time for us to help them out. They will never ask for it but Hallie, Trevor, Carla, and Tanner need our support. Any donation made will be given to Hallie’s family to help with whatever it is that they need during this dire and stressful time.
