Hi, I’m Mohammed Suwan, help me to restart my life in Gaza

My name is Mohammed Suwan, and I am writing to you from Gaza Strip, with a plea that weighs heavily on my heart.

Our lives turned upside down when the war broke out one year ago. On the tenth day of war, my family -that consists of 6 members- lost our home, and we had to leave Gaza city.

For the past twelve months, my family and I have endured the horrors of a war that has torn our lives apart. Our once peaceful home has been destroyed, forcing us to flee from one city to another, seeking refuge from the relentless violence that surrounds us. The scarcity of food and the constant fear for our safety have become our harsh realities.

I am a new verified lawyer, a field I am passionate about despite the chaos that engulfs us. My office got destroyed during the war, and this left me with no job or future.

Despite the darkness that surrounds us, I have not lost faith in humanity. I believe in the inherent goodness of people, and I hold onto the hope that there are those who share our belief in the sanctity of life. It is with this belief that I reach out to you.

Doing simple necessities now is tiring and time consuming, charging devices and accessing the internet is no easy task; I have to wait for hours every day in a queue to charge devices in a nearby school that is used as a refugee camp. All I ask for is the chance to rebuild my life and rebuild my career, where I can also work and support myself and my family.

In closing, I am reminded of a profound truth echoed in holy and philosophical scriptures: "He who saves a life as if he saved all, and he who kills one as if he killed them all." These words resonate deeply with us, reinforcing our belief in the value of every human life.
