Hallock Family: Fuel For Healing and Mission

Donation protected
Kevin Toqe here — dear friend of the Hallocks. For 11+ years, I’ve watched them try every avenue to find healing, including traveling to Switzerland, and the battle still persists. They don’t give up though, and neither will we. Though I am organizer of this fundraising effort, Matt will be writing the updates, so please direct any communication/messages to him. Read on and stay tuned! Here's Matt:

I am writing to you this morning smack in the center of another intensely challenging time in our family’s life. While I believe more than ever that, being a child of God, I get to boldly and confidently keep believing for healing and settling for nothing less, my body is still under heavy attack.

FIGHTING FOR HEALTH

One year ago, we held a miraculous GoFundMe where our friends and family rallied around us and helped us pursue healing for this debilitating condition that’s racked my body for twelve years. Today, as much as it pains me to say to you, my body is struggling as much as ever…if not more. Many days in the last weeks, I have barely been able to get out of bed due to the pain…everywhere. I am often unable to drive, and some mornings it takes me 2 minutes to walk the 30 feet from our bed to the kitchen.

I currently weigh 112 pounds, as you can see in the picture. And that's when I do eat hearty and full meals. It's quite frustrating because I fast and feel better, and then go back to eating, which brings back more pain and inflammation. I feel best when I haven’t eaten a thing for three days.

Through all of this, Corrie goes through her own emotional attacks, both on my behalf, and also her own grief that comes with having dreams of what life could look like for the husband and family she loves feel like they're getting ripped away. The girls meanwhile have had frequent tears, feeling like their summer is getting stolen once again by this sickness in Daddy's body.

I have five doctors I'm currently working with (Stanford, Switzerland, Kansas, and two here at home) but have not been getting full treatment due to cost.

FIGHTING FOR FINANCES

This health crisis has reached its tentacles into our finances. We are nearly out of money at the moment, and the state of my body would make it look like we have no chance of income coming our way. After a year of working hard to support my beautiful family, lately I’ve cancelled many business appointments and am facing the probability of cancelling upcoming opportunities (classes I teach in my SAT and Life Mentorship business) in August that would have otherwise covered us and paid our bills moving forward.

LOOKING AHEAD: GOD'S MISSION FOR US

Given this health crisis, it’s clear that it’s time for me to build a reliable and sustainable-for-our-family business/ministry–-something that will be able to sustain us and provide consistent residual income regardless of how my body is doing from one day to the next.

While Corrie works hard to also bring in an income to support our family, it’s such a huge desire in me to be the primary provider for my family. It’s my joy, my honor to go out and conquer in the world so that my family at home can thrive. And this sickness threatens my ability to do that.

So, I’ve recently been writing a few books on the side. However, now, with my body as it is, it’s time for me to write fiercely. If I’m unable to go out and teach or hold appointments, then I will send my message out, and possibly reach even more people in the process. And I will sit at this computer and write through the pain in my wrists with all my might. And if my wrists hurt too bad on any given day…I’ll record and transcribe it.

HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT OUR FAMILY'S MISSION

If you are able, and if it's not going to put you and your family in a hard place, we'd love for you to help us get to our six month $50,000 goal.

Here's how the amount breaks down (totals for the six months):
--Regular monthly bills: $30,000
--Business and publishing costs: $3000
--Doctor appts and IVs (here at home): $6000
--Supplements and medications (here at home): $6000
--Return visit to Biologix Health Clinic in Kansas: $5000

Please share this campaign and the forthcoming updates as much as you feel comfortable and with whomever you think would be beneficial. You all are powerful in keeping the momentum going.  Thank you friends, for loving us and believing in us the way you do. We are excited to pursue this mission with you and to keep returning the blessing that you already are to us.

Much love.

--Matt and Corrie

Rebecca and one of her absolute bests friends in the whole world, literally. She and her family just so happen to live in Switzerland, so while Daddy was in the clinic getting treatment, Becca was getting her own needed healing.

Darcy, the newly-turned four year old, tromping around Switzerland like a little champion, also getting healing in her own way...precious girl.

Our girls and our growing mini farm (and their growing responsibilities).

Then there’s the incredibly lush garden that Corrie has nurtured pretty much entirely from seeds!
