H.A.L.O.'s Birthday Fund!
We need your help to meet our Birthday match!
Meet Clarice. Found as a stray, her finder had been turned away from every shelter until he called H.A.L.O.
Clarice suffered from a severe open fracture dislocation. Basically, she was crushed and her bone was protruding from her shoulder.
Due to her only being 1 pound, surgery was extremely risky so every effort was made to “grow her up” in foster with intense medical supportive care before amputation.
After only 4 days, her leg became necrotic and we rushed her to an emergency clinic. Days passed as doctors discussed a guarded approach to her care, but they felt they were quickly losing any window of opportunity and would lose her if the amputation was not completed. On Tuesday she underwent the major operation removing not only her leg, but a portion of her pectoral muscle which was also necrotic.
By a Miracle, Clarice was eating that night and discharged back into foster care the following day. The vet said… “this little girl is a fighter.” Her medical journey has a long road to full recovery, but her spirit has already beat the odds.
Each morning she yells at her foster for food, softly touches her face and gives her kisses.
These are the moment we fight for each day. These are the wins we could never do without your support. Looking into her eyes, you are reminded of the incredible power an animal has to live in the moment and not allow a setback to hinder showing up for life.
It’s not too late to help to save more lives like Clarice. We have $14,000 to go to reach our $25,000 goal!
H.A.L.O. Rescue was created in 2006 with a mission to create a NO KILL safe haven for abused and abandoned animals. H.A.L.O. believes in a community where there are no more homeless pets and that together we can eliminate the killing of companion animals.
