Hamish Strikes Back!
Donation protected
Dear friends of the Fenton Family - As many of you know just days ago, Cassie and Gus’s 11-year-old son Hamish was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer. So rare that less than 200 cases globally have ever been identified.
There are no words to describe the torment of this diagnosis and the impact it has had, and will have, on their lives. Cassie and Gus are determined to do everything in their power to help Hamish beat this disease.
Those who know Hamish, know he is an exceptional human! A beautiful soul inside and out, a multi-sport athlete loved by his teammates, a cherished friend to so many here in New York and his home in Australia, and a delightful brother to Archer, Jagger and Lola.
Hamish is handling this diagnosis as only he would – concerned for everyone else and always looking on the bright side! Always courageous and positive, polite to the medical staff even when they cause him pain, and worrying about where his beautiful mum will sleep in his small hospital room.
The road ahead is a brutal one. Hamish has already undergone several gruelling surgeries and has begun chemotherapy, under the care of a team of world-leading paediatric oncologists at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
While Cassie and Gus have been firmly opposed to any form of financial help, the rarity of this recent diagnosis and the projected treatment plan and associated costs, are unimaginable. This could include Hamish joining future clinical trials and seeking alternative options, none of which are likely to be covered by insurance.
The Fenton’s are overwhelmed and eternally grateful at the outpouring of support from family and friends and know that they have a better chance of winning this battle if they can use every possible resource.
All donations, big and small, will go toward Hamish’s treatment and any related unexpected costs and if there are funds remaining, they will be given to pediatric cancer research or a related cancer charity.
Thank you for helping the Fenton family embark on this journey with some peace.
Now let’s do everything we can to ensure “Hammer Strikes Back!”
