Statement from the family:
In Memory of Hamlet Cruz-Gomez
The Cruz and Peña family are deeply saddened by the tragic demise of Hamlet Cruz-Gomez. Hamlet was a son, a brother, a husband, a father and above all, he was a kind soul, willing to
lend a hand to anyone in need.
On Tuesday, June 30th, 2020, Hamlet’s life came to an end at just 25 years young. He was out getting groceries for his family when a stolen truck running a red light crashed into him, ending his life. Hamlet is survived by his wife, Angelica, and newborn daughter, Emma.
Hamlet will always be remembered as a beautiful and gentle soul- you could always count on him to be a shoulder to lean on. Hamlet was motivated and driven- his goal in life was to be able to provide for his family. A family man who devoted his life to providing for his mom, dad, and a younger sister who he loved so dearly along with his wife and daughter.
Hamlet came to the US from the Dominican Republic not speaking a word of English. With determination, focus, and his incredible work ethic, Hamlet graduated top of his class as Valedictorian from Bronx High School and went on to Union College on a full scholarship and, later on attended Bronx Community College and became a Radiologic Technologist.
We hope you can help by providing financial support while they grieve their loss to help the family through these difficult times. All donations made will go directly to Hamlet’s widowed wife, Angelica as he was the sole provider of his family.
We understand that everyone is going through their own difficulties with the current pandemic and are thankful for any support you may be able to provide including keeping this family in your constant prayers.
All funds will go directly to Mrs. Cruz-Gomez and their newborn daughter.
