Help Hana Share the Load and Kick Cancer’s Ass

Donation protected
Help share the heavy load! We’re fundraising for our dear friend Hana, mother to two exceptional young children and a talented craftsperson. Out of nowhere, she was diagnosed with colon cancer this month. Our goal is to help her kick cancer’s ass and support her family so they can get through this as painlessly as possible. Please share the load and donate what you can to help with the cost of medical treatments, childcare, and living expenses while she goes through surgery and treatment.

Hana is a full-time mom and self-employed craftsperson who must prioritize her cancer battle and will need some help to ensure the kids are okay. Hana has two daughters; Olivia is a sensitive, creative, empathetic, intelligent and musically talented eleven-year-old, and Sophia is an energetic, creative, curious and spirited four-year-old.

As Hana faces three to twelve months of recovery from surgery and other treatments, Sophia needs full-time preschool. The cost of preschool, the loss of Hana's income, and all the other expenses that will come with treatments while sustaining life are too much for one family to bear. The good news is that the full-time preschool where Sophia did a summer program has one opening, and she will begin class there in January! Olivia just started middle school and is an aspiring musician who needs a consistent routine to continue to thrive.

Let’s team up and help share the load so that Olivia and Sophia can continue to be inspired and given experiences to help them grow, even though their mom has a challenging road ahead.

Hana's surgeon informed her that she will likely be out of commission for six months to a year, so she is trying hard to lay the groundwork so her daughters can continue to thrive even while she has to lay low and face this shitty situation.

As many know, Hana is a fantastic craft person and owner of Hana's Handmade; she is doing all she can to create holiday crafts and raise money before she begins cancer treatments. In addition to requesting all the bad jokes to help her humor her way through this situation, she hopes that people will do their holiday shopping with her to help her fund this battle. Come down to the Woodstock Night Market on Dec 9th and 10th, located at 5939 SE 82nd, where she’ll sell her lovingly crafted candles, baby booties, rainbow catchers, cast iron potholders, eye pillows, and more! The event runs from 4-10 pm each day.

Please consider donating what you can to help bring consistency to the girls' lives while Hana undergoes treatment and surgery. If you want to help but cannot contribute here, connect with Jessica for ideas on how to help with tasks, meals, and other necessities as she begins her recovery journey.

It will not be easy, but Hana is a hardworking mama who plans to fight like mad to make it through this battle. Let’s help her carry the load.
