Hana High School Girls Volleyball

As you may have heard, the Hana Girls volleyball team battled their way from third place to second overall in the MIL tournament this past weekend, earning them the chance to go to the state tournament in Honolulu this week. Originally seeded third going into the MIL tournament they first upset second seeded Moloka'i in the semifinal game, beating them in 4 close sets. That put them into the championship against Seabury. They played well and came in second in the tournament. But that created the need for a playoff with Moloka'i to decide who was the number two team overall. So with little sleep and against the odds they played a third game in as many days and battled hard to secure the win over the Farmers who had the home gym advantage both times. 


The team is now faced with expenses related to an extended inter-island trip. While the school covers some of the essential costs, each player will need to come out of pocket to supplement meals, snacks and whatever activities they might get to enjoy while on the 4-5 day trip. The girls have worked hard all season and parents are constantly contributing both time and money to feed visiting teams, work in the concession booth and support the kids when they travel for away games.  


So as a private individual I'm asking you to help support the girls by donating whatever you can. Every little bit helps and every bit donated will go straight to the team to help offset their expenses - allowing them to focus on playing to the best of their ability instead of worrying about finances. 


Please support the girls volleyball team as they compete at the state tournament, representing Hana and their families.
