Hand in hand for #IranPride

It's no news how the Human Rights situation is in Iran! The cruelty of the Iranian regime is on the breaking news every now & then, from executing & imprisonment of queers to arresting & insulting women for not wearing their hijab “correctly”!

As most of you are aware, the protests against the Iranian regime sparked last September following the arrest & murder of Mahsa Amini by morality police for not complying with compulsory Hijab. The protests have evolved into a revolution since & are continuing to grow with rallies across the globe.

But the cruelty of this government does not end with suppressing women’s rights. Most Iranian people are under attack by their government every day in the last four decades! & one of the minorities who have been suffering the most is gays, lesbians, transgender, intersex people & all other queers (LGBTI+).

Transgenders are forced to go under sex-change surgery & homosexuals could be arrested, tortured, raped, and executed. Simply put, the government condemns to death those who wish just to be themselves.

That’s why we, the Iranian queers in the diaspora have joined forces across the globe to show our support & solidarity with the people living in Iran, & stand united with those who fight with their lives against the dictatorship under the name of #IranPride.

IranPride is our front, all Iranian queers & allies to be the voice of the voiceless, supporting & promoting LGBTQ+ Rights through participating in the Pride Parades around the world. And Amsterdam is our first stop!

We are going to sail in the canals of Amsterdam to represent the Iranian queer heroes who lost their lives or spend much of it in prison for defending LGBTIQ+ Rights.

However, it’s not possible without your support.

Where would your donation go?

Each & every donation collected for this purpose will be spent to rent, decorate & sail the #IranPride boat in Amsterdam Pride. Additionally, it will be spent to facilitate the participation of Iranian queers & allies in our events around the world.

Who are we?



We are JoopeA Foundation, a non-profit organization based in the Netherlands. We are active since 2009 and officially registered in 2014 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Our main activity is in the field of Queer Rights, Refugee Support & Internet Freedom. But you may heard of us as IranPride in Amsterdam Pride.

This year we are joining hands with Azad Queer organization to carry out the #IranPride in Amsterdam Pride.
