Handicap-Van needed

Donation protected
Hi,

My name is Gina (Aunt). We (my sister, Sharon and close family friend, Tammie Walker Smith) are organizing this fundraiser to help with purchasing a handicap-accessible van for my nephew, Brandon Mullins.

Brandon has always been a gentle, respectful young man and he deserves a better life. Brandon was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2012, at the age of 22, in the prime of his life. He was a student at the University of Memphis, working, very active, and an athlete since the age of 6. This diagnosis came as quite a shock to Brandon. He functioned as normal, for the most part, until 2020. At that time, he began using a cane for stability, then a walker, and later the wheelchair. Brandon no longer has total mobility of his extremities and is no longer able to walk. As one can imagine, this change led Brandon into severe depression.

This journey has been a huge demand on so many levels. Transportation to appointments has definitely been a constant challenge. His parents have tirelessly cared for Brandon, despite the physical exhaustion that goes along with it. Thankfully, he was recently approved for a customized wheelchair that now allows him the opportunity to get out of bed and enjoy the beauty of nature. Although the van will not stop the daily pain and discomfort he faces, it will help reduce his depression from being stuck inside every day.

The van will also allow his parents the opportunity to transport him freely and allow him to go places he currently cannot. They would love to include him on some family vacations too. After research, the van will cost from 15k to 25k. His parents could get a loan, but we want to take that burden off of them because they already have added expenses caring for Brandon's needs. We ask that you contribute whatever you can to help us make this dream become a reality for Brandon. If you cannot give please pray for the family, especially Brandon! 2 Corinthians 9: 6-7

We thank you in advance.

Blessings,

Gina, Sharon, and Tammie
