Support Hank Dietle's Tavern, Rockville's Best Music Venue

We are a small, live music venue in Rockville, MD. In 2021, we re-opened a fully renovated space after a devastating fire. Having invested quite a bit already, we are not able to sustain the ongoing capital improvement costs of maintaining the club without help.

We know our space is important to the our customers, friends, musicians - the entire community. It has become, as a friend put it, the clubhouse we all needed. It's a place for musicians to play and support themselves, for new bands to play, and for friends and musicians to gather.

Currently, we are planning upgrades to the HVAC system, which is not capable of handling the heat generated by the amount of people on a crowded night. We also share responsibility with our neighboring tenant of maintaining the parking lot, which we share. It is in disrepair and will need to be completely repaved.

In addition, we have ongoing expenses, such as music licensing fees, insurance (which continues to increase), and repairs to our vintage building.

While it looks as though business is great because our attendance has increased, the amount of expenses, unfortunately, still outweigh the profits. We operate on a skeleton crew and lots of volunteers. Without a restaurant, we are relying on selling enough beer and wine and the small percentage of profits from cover charges to pay for these expenses.
