Hank Sosnowski Memorial Family Fundraiser

Just over seven years ago my stepfather, Henry Sosnowski was the victim of a violent crime while being a good Samaritan and suffered a massive brain injury requiring 24 hour care and supervision. No one expected my stepdad to ever leave the hospital but with my mother’s care and dedication Henry lived more than seven years longer than they expected. Although Henry had severe disabilities my mother, Ivy, made sure that they still did what they had planned for their retirement, so she got them out camping, took day trips, weekends at the Peppermill and even designed and built a wheelchair bike.

My mother is grateful for every precious moment she has had with Henry but the last 7 years have not been easy on her, and like many care-givers, her health has suffered too.

I am starting this GoFundMe Campaign for my mother who lovingly sacrificed everything to care for Henry and is now in an impossible position. There are no benefits to help, no job, no income and no savings. She will still have bills and rent to pay. Starting over at 59 years old is not going to be easy. After 7 years of making Henry her only priority, I want her to have the time she deserves and needs to regain her health, grieve her loss and to build the foundation of a business that could support her into retirement and keep her housed.

Part of this GoFundMe is to also help with burial costs. Henry was cremated so he could have his ashes spread in his favorite place, Bolinas, CA. The cost of fuel alone just to get there are back is an expense my mom cannot afford but is desperate to honor his wishes.
