Hank's Emergency Hospitalization Bill

Donation protected
I'm Kim, Hank is my first baby. I've had him since I was 18 and he was 9 weeks old. He's now 16 and a half and has always been super healthy. The past few days I noticed him breathing a little harder than usual, but acting completely normal otherwise. I thought it might be an upper respiratory infection so I was waiting to see. Today, January 18th, I noticed his breathing was a lot worse. I decided to take him to VSS so he could be seen ASAP. They took him in almost as soon as we got there and started assessing him. A few minutes later the vet came in to tell me that's it's probably congestive heart failure and he'd need to be hospitalized for a few days while they run tests and make sure he's stable. He told me that if it's mild CHF that it could be reversed, but that if it's worse he has 6 months to a year at most. The option was given to let him go, but I couldn't just give up on him without at least checking how bad it is. I had to leave him there and didn't get to say bye before I left which breaks my heart but I understand he's in good hands. I had to pay a deposit of $1,460 for him to stay and be hospitalized, which is half of the high end of his care estimate. This is not an amount I had planned for so I'm asking for help. When I pick him up there will be another portion to be paid which is hopefully not another $1,460 but it's a possibility and I don't know what I'm going to do at that time so that's why I'm asking for assistance. I truly appreciate any help. Thank you. <3
