My name is Paige, and I'm the older sister and friend of 2 of the victims of the tragic lithium ion battery-related 3 alarm fire in Brooklyn, NYC. On November 12th 2023, a fire broke out in the attached brownstone of my sister Hannah and her roommate Alexa. The horrific fire raged for hours and sadly took the lives of their 3 neighbors.

We are so incredibly grateful that they made it out that night. They were transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation and thankfully released that next morning. The fire has displaced Hannah and Alexa and caused the loss/damage of most of their belongings. The smoke damage to their apartment is extensive and will cause their apartment to be gutted and redone. They also have many holes in their ceilings and the skylights were broken out in order to stop the fire from spreading. As you can imagine, the trauma from the fire and what they witnessed that night will stay with them forever.

Hannah and Alexa are NYC actors and both work multiple part time jobs to make ends meet. They did have a small amount of renter’s insurance, but due to the extensiveness of the smoke damage, they are unsure if they will have enough to cover what they will need. They will also need to move out, get storage units and find new safe places to live.

Seeing as I live across the country in California, I am hoping to provide and encourage as much support and healing as I can with this support fund. All donations will be split evenly between my sister Hannah and her roomie, Alexa. Funds will go directly to finding and providing safe housing for the two, replacing basic personal necessities, clothing and furniture, as well any trauma related therapy they may need.
