Our sweet, beautiful Hannah Davidson passed away Friday, July 17, 2020, just one day following her 29th birthday. Hannah was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer less than two months ago. She was 20 weeks pregnant at the time. The cancer was found in both lungs, and Hannah began the fight for her and the baby's life starting with targeted chemotherapy. After having trouble breathing, she was life-flighted to the University of Utah hospital (on Father's Day). She had a great sense of humor, and teased her husband, Ross, that a jet ride was his Father's Day present. She was put on a ventilator, and a week later, doctors added in traditional chemotherapy. On Monday, July 13, a tracheotomy was performed, and when Hannah came out of sedation, her body went into labor. She gave birth to Elsie Catharina Davidson (without a C-section). Elsie weighed 2 lbs. 5 oz. and is currently in the NICU with a big fight of her own ahead. A few days later, Hannah lost her battle with cancer.
Hannah and her husband, Ross, would have celebrated their 10 year wedding anniversary this November. Ross and Hannah met at BYU-Idaho, and Hannah claimed she "stuffed" Ross in a church basketball game when they met. Over the last decade, they created a beautiful family and life together. This is a devastating loss to all who know her, but especially for her husband and their four children. Hannah was mother to Madison (age 7), Mark (age 4), Hyrum (age 21 months), and Elsie (less than a week old).
Hannah found great joy in being a wife and mother. She was also a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and always shared her love of Jesus Christ, even throughout this painful trial.
Ross and the children will need significant support and assistance as they face a life without Hannah's love and care. Ross will be forced to revisit his definition of "normal" in the absence of Hannah's sweet and gentle guidance in their family.
This fund will help with Hannah's funeral expenses, hospital bills for her and baby Elsie, and will also help with the care, maintenance and education of her children. This fund is created and managed by Ross's cousin, Vanessa (St. George, UT). The family's need is immediate and the distribution of all donations will go directly to Hannah's husband, Ross Davidson.
