Hannah Sorensen and Susan Snead

Hi, on Sunday February 25th my mom and my two daughters were involved in a terrible car wreck on highway 98. A ford bronco driver lost consciousness and drove into oncoming traffic hitting my mom and my two daughters Hannah and Hayden, head on. That caused the car to spin and another car hit my mom and daughters. My youngest daughter Hayden (5) is physically okay at home with minor injuries. My mom, has a long road ahead of her with very complex injuries. Both of her legs are broken, broken arm, and broken ribs. Her right heel is shattered and requires very extensive surgery. We are unsure if she will be able to keep her foot at this point. So far my mom has already had two surgeries and is expected to have many more. Hannah, my oldest daughter (6) is in the pediatric ICU. Hannah’s C2-C3 vertebra are broken,her C2-C5 vertebra are damaged. Hannah is on a ventilator, and she has a broken leg. Hannah is conscious but very heavily sedated. She has already had one surgery to place two rods in her neck, and is having another in the morning to put in a G tube and a trach so that her breathing tube can come out of her mouth. She doesn’t like it in her mouth she is biting down on it, which cuts off oxygen. Hannah is expected to have a very long recovery. Since the accident, no change has been found in Hannah.

If we were able to receive funds it would go towards my mom and Hannah’s medical expenses and rehabilitation because they are both going to need inpatient rehabilitation when the time comes. Prior to the accident Hannah lived with her grandparents and father. Her father is currently taking time off from work and his family have set up an Eglin federal credit union account for donations. But I know a lot of our family and friends are not local.

With that being said, me and my husband are currently stationed at Hickam Air Force base in Honolulu Hawaii. We are trying to be transferred to Hurlburt field to help with my family. We are currently on emergency leave, my husband will have to go back to Hawaii but I will be staying here with my family. Anything helps and I appreciate all of you more than you will ever be able to understand.
