Happy Bunz Vegan Donut Shop

Hello everyone! My name is Cynthia Toledo, and I am the owner and founder of Happy Bunz. Happy Bunz started as an idea back in 2016, that came to fruition in the summer of 2019.
I was born in Sanger, but have spent most of my life in Fresno and have indulged in all of the delicious food this City has to offer. In 2018, after watching the “Dominion” documentary on YouTube, I made the choice to go vegan and switched over to a plant based diet. As I searched around for vegan food in town, I noticed a lack of plant based food options. Motivated by hunger (what can I say, I am a Taurus) and my desire to contribute to the vegan community, the idea of Happy Bunz popped into my head, and into the kitchen I went. After many failed attempts and a full month of experimenting with different ingredients -a glorious (egg-free, dairy-free), soft, fluffy, vegan donut came to be.
Happy Bunz soon became a topic of many conversations and I was encouraged by friends and family to start a business. As a full-time employee, I knew that there was no way I was going to run a business and keep my job (AND sanity). One of my close friends pushed me to "test the waters" and booked me for my first pop-up event. I was so blown away by the support and feedback, that after a few weeks of day dreaming/planning/praying/meditating -I walked into my job and put in my two weeks’ notice. I believed in Happy Bunz, so I ran with it.
Happy Bunz has operated as a cottage home business since 2019. Our customer base has grown significantly this year and as a result, we have outgrown my home kitchen. Working from home has its perks, but as a food business, accessibility has always been an issue. My team and I have decided that it was time to move into a commercial location; after a few months of searching, we found our spot!
I AM BEYOND EXCITED to move into this next chapter and for our donuts and food to be easily accessible to everyone. However, I need your help. I am humbling myself before you and asking that you help make Happy Bunz a reality for all of us! I have funded all of the startup costs up to this point, but we still have some work to do. Your donations will go to the purchase and installation of a hood system and renovations to the inside of our shop. We can’t wait to open our doors, and look forward to seeing you at our grand opening. Thank you!
With love,
Cynthia
