Happy Cat Cafe - Grand Rapids

Donation protected
First, thank you to all my friends, family, and supporters who have helped us adopt out almost 400 cats over 3 years. I'm so grateful to the community that has welcomed and cherished us.
Happy Cat has taught me more than any experience one ever could. Happy Cat is my source of triumph and failure.
After my divorce, business was on the upswing. I won 11k to finish the coffeeshop, visitors we're happy, and cats were getting adopted like crazy.
When COViD hit, I lost that 11k in one month. Even with donations, we struggled to make ends meet. I committed to re-opening and finishing the coffee shop despite the economic downturn.
Yesterday, I found that a cat from the cafe was diagnosed with ringworm.
While mild, it's highly contagious to cats and humans, so we will be closing to the public and halting adoptions until further notice. The goal is for all the cats evacuated and treated in foster homes.
I do not know if Happy Cat will ever re-open at this time. I'm sorry to anyone who is inconvenienced, sad, or just angry. I am too.  - Kati Dodge, HCC Owner
