Care at the Heart of Education: Help us make this a reality!
"The soft skills of yesterday become the hard skills of today and tomorrow!" — Andreas Schleicher (Director for the Directorate of Education and Skills – OECD PISA)
Happy Schools International Online Course (HSIO)
HSIO is a free, 9-month-long worldwide online course offering an experience-based learning journey designed to equip professionals in the education system for a paradigm shift, placing the well-being of children and adolescents at the heart of schools' mission.
Why now?
The world needs optimism and creativity to build a better tomorrow, where we can live in harmony with ourselves, others, and nature. HSIO addresses this need by focusing on the development of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in schools, emphasizing three dimensions of care: Care for Self; Care for Others; Care for the Planet (Nature and Society).
Our Aim
We aspire to inspire teachers, educators, and school leaders worldwide to form a community of practitioners dedicated to shaping the future. Together, we will develop and refine skills, fostering collective growth.
Our competency framework is grounded in years of experience of Happy Schools in Vietnam and Switzerland and structured around the PISA Happy Life Index, UNESCO's principles for Happy Schools, the humanitarian principles and the Inner Development Goals (IDGs)
Our project is developed collaboratively, based on partnerships and anchored in research.
Prototyping Year Achievements
