Happy to be Alive after Knife Attack in Canggu Bali

Hey, I'm Joe, and I will tell you what happened to me and my girlfriend in Bali.
Traumatic robbery & attempted murder at my home October 17th at 2 am. An Indonesian man wearing a mask came into my home with a large knife while I was sleeping. I woke up shocked in the dark, staring at him standing in my room. I jumped out of bed, grabbed the blade of a knife. Also we fought for the knife for a while before I won it from him and threw it under the bed. He was yelling "punya temen" which means I have friends as my hands get cut very badly from the blade. He ran away smashing my head with a picture frame while I chased him. He took my bag which contained my phone & work phone, one Samsung Galaxy ZFlip, my passport, brand new MacBook M2 laptop, wallet/cards, clothing items, glasses, etc.
I called the Police and Ambulance many times and no one answered the call so I had to get help from mini mart shop keepers to take me to the emergency hospital. They helped and I needed surgery but I didn't want it in Bali because 4 different intricate surgeries were needed. After much waiting in Siloam Hospital my sister flew over to help with emergency passport and other documents so I was able to fly after 7 days. My sister came to help us fill out forms for new emergency passport, organise doctors letters, police reports, travel docs because I couldn’t use my hands.
I went to Charles Gairdner Perth Hospital in Australia for surgery on my two hands. The surgeon did 4 surgeries and repaired the 2 cut tendons in my middle finger, the broken meta carpal and cut nerve in my right thumb. I was discharged just yesterday and required 3 months of hand therapy and medication like anti biotics, anti inflammatory, anti nerve pain and codeine. Police made a report but they've been hopeless. I have CCTV of the thief and his fingerprints and given authorities serial numbers of everything stolen but nothing.
It's a little embarrassing but I started this Go Fund Me because all the stolen items, a lot of medical bills, emergency documents and last minute flights have amounted to over 20,000 AUD. If you can help in any way I'll be forever grateful, if you cannot that's also alright, I'm just happy to be alive!
