Hi, I'm Sarah Fishman from the Happy Yogi Cooperative. It's been nearly 9 months since our yoga community lost "the big red barn" -- the building in Olney, MD where we had been breathing, moving and healing together for over 15 years. Today, I'm SO excited to share that we are ready to begin work on a new home! We are partnering with Tikvat Israel Congregation in Rockville, MD and will be moving into our new studio space in mid-to-late April, 2023. We need some help to turn this former elementary school classroom into a Zen and magical treehouse, so that breathing and moving can resume in-person once again.
Some of the things we will use these funds towards:
- Cork flooring to cover the current tiles (cork is renewable, anti-microbial and moisture resistant, and reduces impacts on joints!);
- New paint for walls and blinds for windows;
- Devices and associated hardware, to allow our online yogis to see and be seen by teachers in class;
- New computer and tablet for live-streaming classes and front desk operations;
- Air purifier; and
- Light fixtures and sound system, and more!
