Whitney's Weight Loss Journey

Hi everyone! My name is Whitney and I am taking a huge step within the next few months to completely change my life. Anyone who has ever met me could tell you I'm smart, funny, bubbly, beautiful, and overweight. I have been this way my entire life due to my extremely low metabolism. I promise you I have tried many diets and attempted life style changes in the past (Weight Watchers, Atkins, Palo Diet, Crossfit) and while I may have lost 30-60 lbs, it come right back when I'm not starving myself. I am currently 275lbs on a 5'6" frame. I have back and hip pain, trouble breathing, hormone imbalances, severe depression, high blood sugar, and elevated cholesterol. I am ready to stop simply existing and start living my life! At the end of July, Dr. Nilesh Patel will perform a gastric sleeve bypass on me. The preperation before the operation and the struggle afterwards are going to test me in everyway possible. I will never again be able to drink a soda because of the carbonation, eat and drink at the same time, have anything with a fat content over a certain level. I may lose some hair, and I will have loose skin, but the point is not for vanity, but for health. I want to see Lex grow up. I want to have more babies. I want to live my life to the fullest and I am taking those steps to do that. Please help me by donating money to help cover the deductibles and expenses of traveling to San Antonio for the surgery. I am so grateful for all of my family and friends that will love and support me through this very trying time.
I plan on documenting every step of this process with a video blog to help men and women in the future who want to know the good, the bad, and the ugly truth about weight loss surgery. I found there is not many if any personal accounts of the struggle before you even get to the operating table. I aim to shed some light and let people know this is not an easy fix or an easy way out. This will change your life.
