Hard working Grad students lose everything
Donation protected
On January 26, 2019 a fire destroyed the mobile home that my daughter Brianna Barnes and her partner Courtney Harrington lived in. Both Brianna and Courtney are ok but the fire took the lives of 3 cats they dearly loved. One cat did manage to survive.
The fire started due to a faulty electrical strip that caught fire, ignited the couch, went up the wall, across the ceiling and traveling throughout their mobile home. The home is a total loss and nearly everything in it was destroyed (clothing, school books, cherished photos, furniture). We are raising money to help them both with things they need immediately. The home was insured so eventually they will have the money to replace it and most of the items in it. This money raised will be used for the following:
Temporary living
Basic essentials (food, shoes, school books, storage fees, vet bill for both the surviving cat and the three that passed)
Uhaul, storage boxes and supplies
Out of pocket expenses pertaining to insurance deductibles
Hauling away of destroyed home after insurance condemns it.
Both Brianna and Courtney are very kind, compassionate and hard working young women who are both in school.
Courtney works full time and the medical examiners office AND goes to school to become a PA.
Brianna is in her third year of a 5 year grad school program to become a licensed Psychologist. Her school easily takes up 50+ hours a week.
They literally live paycheck to paycheck and have no discretionary money to help with these expenses.
I ask anyone who see's this fundraising effort to donate if you can. Even $1 will help these young women who have suffered a great tragedy.
Thank you so much to those who can help!
