Hardship after Botched Appendicitis Surgery

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Rachel Westcott, and these are my boys, Cyrus (5)and Victor (6 weeks).

Because of Corona, I was quarantined the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy.
My job decided to start my 12 week unpaid maternity leave early.

Then, towards the end of May, I had an emergency appendectomy. I had to pump and dump 5 days worth of my breast milk. I was still just about on schedule to return to work. Then a couple days later they called me and said there was no appendix tissue in what they removed, and I needed a second CT Scan.

On June 2, I had the second CT Scan. It turned out they didn't remove the appendix after all. They just removed the blood flow to the appendix. Now I have an oxygen starved, dying appendix, that needs to be removed before it can cause more complications. This second surgery will be on June 11, followed by more wasted breast milk for my son. I am and will continue to be on a 10 lb weight restriction for 6 weeks post-surgery. My newborn is almost 10 lbs, and very soon I will not be able to pick up my own baby.

This will also delay my return to work until the end of July, over a month beyond what I had planned for. I am asking for help, with my financial situation, to aid in my recovery going smoothly. Thank you for reading my story and for any donation you are able to make.
