Mushroom and Hare VS Phoenix
Donation protected
For those who are not familiar with us, we are two artists, known online as Keewakw and Sinereous, living in the capital region of Canada. Myca is the main breadwinner for the household and I, J, work at home as a freelance illustrator. I am not currently able to work full time away from home for a multitude of reasons, but for the most part we have been able to make ends meet quite well. In the past we have even extended our extra budget into the rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing of reptiles and invertebrate pets!
Then Phoenix happened* and everything went upside-down.
Without going into too much personal details:
M is still working full time, but is no longer being paid the correct amount. Their raises and previous back-pay have been stalled, and occasionally they have money seized for no reason. Compounding issues with this system as well as years' worth of incorrect paperwork have left us with an enormous tax bill but without having received the actual funds needed to pay it.
Our savings have been liquidated, and credit and private loans are not a possibility currently, so we are reaching out to the wonderful art community we've been a part of for the last eighteen years for help.
What we are asking for is only a chip off of the total amount now owed, but would be enough for us to get back on our feet and keep our housing until (hopefully) some of these issues are resolved.
As always, /anything/ helps and all of our friends and family have our eternal gratitude and love for simply being a part of our lives ♥
