Hariharalaya needs your help!

I am reaching out to you today because Hariharalaya is in desperate need of your support. I founded Hariharalaya back in 2010 with just $500 to my name and a vision to create a center for awakening near the Angkor temples in Cambodia.
Over the years, Hariharalaya has blossomed into a sanctuary for healing, connection, and authentic yoga, welcoming over 12,000 people of all ages from all around the world on a journey of self-discovery. We've shared so many unforgettable and timeless moments together - laughter, tears and silence... joy, peace and freedom... I'm endlessly grateful for the incredible world community that has grown up around Hariharalaya.
Things were going great until 2020, when the pandemic hit and everything changed. With borders closed and travel restrictions, we faced a tough time, but we didn't give up. We kept our doors open and continued to offer an authentic space for learning and growth for those who were stuck in Cambodia during that challenging period.
Now, I need to be vulnerable with you. Keeping Hariharalaya going through the pandemic has taken a toll. We've been struggling to cover our operating expenses and have faced some difficult setbacks. We have done everything possible to stay alive. We pre-sold retreat vouchers, I've personally borrowed money from friends and family, taken bank loans, sold land, and emptied my own savings.
And as if the universe had other plans, in October 2021, I suffered a debilitating Covid related stroke and then learned that we would have to move. We had no choice but to look for a new home for Hariharalaya.
But you know what? Even that couldn't deter us. Our new campus needed a lot of renovations and hard work, but it has turned out to be a big blessing and a step forward in our mission to awaken more hearts and minds to the beauty of the present moment.
The return of tourists to Cambodia has been slower than we expected, especially compared to other popular destinations in Asia. Over 80% of the hotels in Siem Reap still remain closed today.
With a humble heart, I'm reaching out to you, our cherished community, for your help during this critical time. If you've experienced the transformational power of our retreats or have witnessed the positive impact we've had on the world, I urge you to consider contributing whatever you can, be it just $15 or $20.
Your contribution, no matter the amount, will make a huge difference and ensure that Hariharalaya can continue its mission to help people to find peace and live in the present moment.
This money will help us to cover our expenses and get through the next couple of months. We are doing everything that we can to lower our costs, but the truth is that costs have gone up. We don’t want to let go of any of our Khmer staff family - many of them have been working with us for over a decade. All of the donations will go directly toward our operating expenses of $25,000 per month.
We are optimistic about the future and confident that with our 3 year strategy, the new international airport and the coming high season, we will continue to grow and to serve the world as a beacon of light with the foundation that we have established over the last 13 years.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of our journey and for your unwavering support.
With love and gratitude,
