“HARKY’S HEROES FOR KIDS” – A NEW NON-PROFIT WHOSE MISSION IS TO RAISE MONEY AND MAKE DONATIONS TO KIDS IN NEED OF FINANCIAL, SOCIAL AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT** Www.HarkysHeroes.Com
Kids are suffering. Some are homeless, some lost everything in a fire, some are seriously ill, some have no shoes or clothing, and some have no food to eat. There has never been a more important time in our lives to step up and make a difference. With this plan in place for many years, I never imagined that a pandemic or recession would have coincided with the 20th anniversary of my father's death. What's scarier is that most places have not re-opened and we have no idea just how many people we know are out of a job, how many businesses will be closed, or how many families and kids are struggling right now. Here's where Harky's Heroes for Kids comes in.
Twenty years ago (June 17, 2000), my father Abram Altschule passed away suddenly as a result of heart failure following complications of dialysis and his kidney transplant. Especially heartbreaking was that he died on Father’s Day and my brother Josh’s birthday. My dad was a great person all around and an amazing father. He was the person in the room who captivated others with his jokes and hilarious stories! Abe always loved bringing a smile to kids’ faces. When he was surprised on his 40th birthday with a ‘gag’ enrollment to clown school from his brother and sister, he embraced it. It turned out this was something my dad loved doing after his regular workday. He embraced being a clown, doing magic shows and making balloon animals at kids’ birthday parties to bring joy to others. He started a side-business as “Harky The Clown” performing at children’s’ birthday parties, public functions and even as a Santa Claus on the weekends during the holidays. He did this mostly because he really loved bringing so much joy and happiness to children.
To honor Abe Altschule’s memory on the 20th Anniversary of his passing, I decided to form this non-profit organization to help kids in need. We will be donating funds to the Kidney Foundation Pediatric Holiday Party, the Adopt-A-Family program, fundraisers for sick children, or to help kids who do not have adequate clothes, shoes or food. These are just a few examples. The mission is to try and make kids happier, healthier and safer by providing financial assistance and community support. The money raised will go to these great causes.
PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A DONATION TODAY SO WE CAN HELP KIDS IN NEED. YOUR DONATIONS ARE TAX-DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 501(c)(3) organization. If you would like to get involved as a volunteer, please send us an email. We have some great ideas already and welcome more.
Thank you for your time and support. You can donate here on GoFundMe or mail a check to:
