Harlan Park Baseball & Softball Equipment Fund
Donation protected
In the past year, the Harlan Park suffered from an act of vandalism and arson that destroyed the baseball diamond equipment shed. The fire that destroyed our red equipment shed started in the portable toilets and caught the building on fire, destroying nearly all its contents. All of our bases, chalk line markers, groundskeeping equipment, sponsorship banners, diamond dry and many other misc items were lost to fire and water damage. The estimated cost of the equipment was nearly $10,000. The shed cost was over $10,000. The portable toilets must be replaced at the cost of $3000. Unfortunately, none of these items were covered by our insurance policy.
In addition to this loss, one of our Diamond 2 outfield lights was struck by lightning, destroying all 4 light fixtures that are mounted to it. The total cost of repairs is $12,000, but fortunately, insurance will cover about half of that, leaving $6000 for us to cover.
We would greatly appreciate any contribution that you are willing to give so that we can build back our equipment fund and make continued improvements to our ball park.
