Harlie & Her Baby

Harlie, my former in-class student at Hartselle High School (Hartselle, AL), needs the continued support of our community. In May 2022, at 15 years old, she gave birth to her precious premature baby. He spent 48 days in the NICU. Harlie has spent her childhood moving between homes with various family members. Harlie turned 16 in August 2022. After not attending school for a year, we got her enrolled in school as a virtual student. I am currently her homebound teacher. She is working towards a better future for her baby and herself!
In September 2022, her mom unexpectedly passed away. Harlie and her older brother, who lives out of state, were suddenly responsible for her $2,000 cremation fees. I have fundraised for them on my personal social media pages, and miracuously, $9,325 has been donated thus far. A sweet lady went to the funeral home and paid the rest of the cremation fee! Many have donated items and furniture. With the money raised, we gave her mother a memorial service, bought baby items (bouncer, playmat, formula, clothes, etc.), and bought Harlie a car!
I manage a Capital One Savings account for Harlie and her baby. It currently has $5,800 left in it. I am overwhelmed by God's goodness and how he has provided! We have seen an outpouring of generosity from our community that is life-changing for them both! We are so grateful.
I am asking for continued donations for them because needs will always arise. I was a teen mom, and I had a village. They gave us so much of themselves, their time, and their resources. It made all the difference. Let's be that same village for Harlie and her sweet baby!
