Harmed Patients Alliance

The healthcare system frequently fails to provide the care Harmed Patients and Families need to minimise their suffering and enable them to recover emotionally and psychologically as best they can. Frequently those already facing trauma and tragedy are further distressed in the aftermath of healthcare harm.
Harmed Patients Alliance is a campaign group of harmed patients, healthcare professionals and experts working in collaboration towards a future where harmed patients and families are respected and cared for, their needs are understood and met, their suffering is minimised and their recovery is enabled - where preventable second harm is eliminated
Our work will increase understanding of the gap between the current experiences of harmed patients and families and the care and treatment they need to be able to heal. We will call for urgent change and investment where it is needed. We will make the case for research to better understand the wide ranging and long term impacts on harmed patients and families of poor responses to harm, and demand action now on what is already known. We will develop and share resources to support harmed patients and families and to help the healthcare system support them .
Funds raised will help us to achieve our aims through campaigning , project work, and events.
