Please be careful of scammers, people have been using my name and requesting money. I WILL NEVER ask anyone directly for requests.
Hello, My name is Genesis I'm 27 years old. I'm making a Gofundme today because I really don't know what options I have left. I currently reside in Florida while majority of my family lives in California & Japan.
My father Harold "J.R." has been diagnosed with tongue cancer (Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Ventral Tongue) in his mouth that has taken over the bottom of his face towards his neck. He is unable to eat or talk and must use a Gtube to be fed. During radiation his immune system weakened dramatically causing him to acquire Pneumonia. Unfortunately, as of writing this his lungs are continuously creating mucus which has taken control over his right lung, and he will no longer be making it out due to it.
On top of this my Grandma Hiromi has had a combination of COVID and stroke with late-stage dementia she no longer speaks and is completely bedridden for the past couple months. During her stay in a care facility, she has acquired COVID again and has been taken to the ER getting treatment due to blood in her stool.
While both of them are very sick so is their house. It was built in the 1950s with wood as a base material, the house has been slowly degrading and sadly accumulated a mass amount of black mold and wood rotting underneath due to a water leakage. This was caused by a leak underneath the floors and by a neglected jacuzzi. Due to this the house is currently in unlivable conditions.
My original goal was to bring them both back safely into a house they can live in comfortably while they live their days. The goal has now changed to keep them comfortable as much as possible and make sure they feel no regrets or sadness when they pass.
Every donation helps drastically, it will all go towards making sure my dad can have peace of mind knowing everything will be okay when he passes and that my Grandma is able to stay in a facility where she is taken care of while fixing the house to a livable state where hopefully my Grandma can stay if and when she makes it.
If you read this far thank you for reading. If you have any connections to Hiromi or J.R please feel free to reach out if you would like to visit them or leave them a message.
4/17/2025 update:
Hiromi situation has gotten better! She was able to go to the bathroom and remove the stool allowing them to operate and do what they need to do at low risk. Her CT scan showed that she has no current problems but is still at high risk. She will be returning to the facility at some point today or tomorrow. Her immediate family from Japan will be making a visit to see her very soon.
J.R. situation is stagnant no signs of pain, but a lot of discomfort due to the mucus build up in his lungs which continuously comes up and needs a suction tube down his trachea in order to relieve him.
Thank you everyone for your kind words and support during this time it means a lot to my family, friends, and I knowing we have caring and compassionate people around us.
