Harold Nowlin Memorial Fund
Donation protected
This fund is for the Family of Harold Ray Nowlin.
Due to unfortunate circumstances, there is no life insurance or savings to ease the situation. Harold provided the main source of income. His pension terminated upon his death and his wife Diane (57) will not be able to collect Social Security widow's benefits until she is 60. Diane is unable to work due to health conditions and now shoulders the sole responsibility of "overseeing” their two disabled adult sons who live in the home.
Harold was a man with a huge heart, a big smile, and tons of hugs to give. He always brought a smile to the faces of anyone he came into contact with and the most important and deepest connections were the ones with his family.
He leaves his wife of 40 years, Diane Nowlin, seven sons-Mike, Jeff, Randy (deceased), Phil, Jared, Cody, Travis, and one daughter, Stephanie James as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Diane, a widow at only 57, is going to need financial assistance for a short while to keep up with her monthly bills. We hope that she will qualify for some sort of federal or state assistance, but that process takes time.
Harold and Diane worked hard since they were young teenagers, and were always able to provide for their family. Unfortunately, life happens and Diane will have to painfully adapt.
Above all else, they ask for prayer. There are incredible pain and loss with an enormous amount of challenges to overcome in the months ahead. Diane is a Christian and her faith will carry her through this difficult time.
Although these are trying times for everyone, even the smallest contribution will help immensely. If you are unable to contribute monetarily, sharing this GoFundMe page would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and God Bless.

Harold sadly lost his battle from COVID-19 complications on October 25th, 2020 after spending 17 days in the COVID ICU at Freeman Health Systems.
Harold fought so hard, but his body was tired and terribly weak from the amount of energy it took for him to breathe due to Covid-19 pneumonia. He was put on a ventilator because his lungs were so damaged.
Harold's wife, Diane, received the call that no family wants to get from a hospital. They told her that Harold was starting to crash, his kidneys were no longer functioning, and it was only a matter of time before he coded.
After the family arrived at the hospital, they told her only two people would be allowed to go into the isolated room to be with him. Diane and their oldest son Phil had to quickly suit up in personal protective equipment and had to wear a "helmet” that provided them with their own air supply.
Diane and Phil finally could touch him and tell him they loved him, and it was okay because God was calling his name. Harold died within ten minutes with them by his side. They are certain that Harold could feel and hear them. This was the first time since Harold was hospitalized on Oct 9th, 2020 that any family member was able to be with him due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, there was one day when the family was able to stand outside his hospital window to see him and talk to him on the cell phone. To do this, they had to break hospital rules and go through a restricted area to get to his window. This was shortly before he was put on a ventilator. Although the family would not normally break rules, they were desperate to see their loved one.
