" Harold The Hound " needs your help!

Our facility is home to many "misfit" animals. That includes Harold, a 7 year old retired research dog who has resided with us for almost 3 years come fall. Harold has deserved his retirement from research and is enjoying the good life on the farm, sharing it with his furry and feathered friends. Harold has learned there's more to life than 4 walls and medical exam rooms. On 4/5/2022 Harold mistakenly heard what he thought was a recall and left the pack while on our daily 2 mile walk through the woods where our rescued dog have the opportunity for mental stimulation, physical exercise and companionship of their peers. Harold found himself in the horse pasture, and what happened next is unknown. Nessa, the mule, and her counterpart, Freckles, we're found guarding Harold from the rest of the wandering equines for his own safety. Harold was carried from the pasture with Nessa and Freckles closely behind him. We then quickly transported Harold to Tuft Emergency in Grafton for radiographs and diagnosis. It was then confirmed that his left from leg was completely broken in two. He is currently stable, and awaiting surgery to repair his broken bones.
Harold holds a special place in the hearts of many. His large, soft and tattooed ears have been the focal point for anyone who has had the opportunity to love him. Harold looks forward to his daily run with the pack. He has just discovered what joy chewing a large stick brings and playing "tag" puts a smile on his face.
Harold bothers no one, loves to recall and spend his afternoons napping in his own efficiency apartment where he can watch the birds out the window and catch up on his soaps.
We are asking for any assistance, as this is a heartbreaking injury, and as usual, unexpected .... And expensive.
If you have the ability to give toward the surgery, rehabilitation and recovery of the best hound dog, he would appreciate it!
If financially assisting isn't an options, please pray for an uncomplicated and speedy recovery!
We appreciate you !
