Harold's Himalayan Challenge Part 2
Donation protected
Last year I fulfilled a 20yr promise and completed 4 weeks of voluntary work in Maya Academy, a school & home for over 200 underprivileged children. I raised €2,500 on Go Fund Me and used the money to buy all materials needed to fit out a room for Volunteers also, in the final week, I managed to make 6 new badly needed classroom benches for the Infants class. (As per pic). I bought them a range of woodworking tools incl. a Bench saw with the balance of the money.
I back again for February & March as my conscience decided it was a "no brainer" I taught them a thing or 2 about work skills but they taught me a fortune about the values of life, friendship, respect and a genuine interest in each others welfare as they could not survive without their crucial tight-knit community.
This time I'm making about 70 benches for their new study Hall and they also need some aid with transport for older students, staying in the hostel to go to another college while they still also work at Maya.
Any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and used in full for the benefit of these children.
My costs are being covered by myself and 2 sponsors who I'm very grateful to.
