Harper’s Hair Studio Downtown Seattle

Hi, my name is Amy Nance and I’m fundraising to help my good friend, Christina Harper Slimp, recover her insurance deductible and lost wages while her shop is repaired.

On the evening of February 1st, a car crashed through the window and destroyed some of the interior, making it impossible for her to work. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time she has encountered damage to her storefront and hardship from the resulting closure of her business. It’s not even the second time.

Over the decade she spent at her previous location, she had to close multiple times due to flooding from the tenant above. Mandatory COVID shutdowns in 2020 caused immense hardship for her business that she was only now beginning to recover from. Then during the protests in downtown Seattle in 2020, her door and front windows were shattered.

Last year, Christina was rear-ended by another driver while waiting at a stoplight. She now suffers from chronic neck and back pain that, for obvious reasons, makes doing her job very difficult at times.

Despite all these setbacks, Christina remains one of the hardest-working, kickass small business-owning and resilient super women I know. She’s had more than her fair share of tough times.
