Harpies aid for Black dancers and CUAPB
Donation protected
As many of you may know, a black man named George Floyd in Minnesota has been murdered by a white police man whilst being arrested under suspicion of a non-violent crime (forging a cheque.) There is currently graphic videos and pictures of his murder circulating in the media, in which George is seen to be non-violent and in pain.
This is extremely distressing and triggering for black people, so it's important that all white people do their very best to try and support them during these hard times by checking in on them, asking them what they need, relieving them from financial stress, etc.
We are setting up a fundraiser in which 60% of funds will go to black, LGBTQ+ people who have worked with Harpies to help relieve financial stress whilst they deal with the mental repercussions of dealing with this horrific event. The other 40% will go to CUAPB (Communities United Against Police Brutality) which is an organisation based in Minnesota, the state of George's murder, that fights against police brutality.
We're extremely grateful for all donations no matter how big and small. Also, feel free to share.
