Harpswell Coastal Academy Needs Your Support
Donation protected
Our free public charter school in Maine needs your help! Please donate to Harpswell Coastal Academy, and/or share our story!
“Crew, not passengers” has been our motto since the foundation of the school in 2014. We go into rooms together: as students, sisters, brothers, teachers, bosses, and children. Here students can gain not only academic skills, but also social-emotional skills that allow them to thrive. It is not uncommon to hear from HCA graduates that they would not have graduated from high school if not for this school.
To remain financially viable and stay open next year, we need to move our high school back to join the middle school at our original campus in Harpswell. The Main Charter School Commission has to approve this consolidation plan or we cannot go forward. The school is working hard to present a clear, specific and viable plan to the Commission. We are raising funds to help make this plan a reality. Our communities need HCA, and we are willing to do whatever it takes to keep offering a safe learning space to kids of all kinds. We ask you to help us by sharing this link or donating. Please remember that we are “crew, not passengers.”
The Commission will vote on our plan no later than May 10. Until then, your donation will stay in a holding account. If they vote yes, we will keep moving forward with your support. If they vote no, your donation will be returned in full.
