Thank you for visiting my go fund me page and taking the time to read my story!

In July 2021 I will be undertaking the Three Peaks Challenge in just 24hrs!

(Ben Nevis 1,344m - Scaffell Pike 978m
- Snowdon 1,085m)

I have chosen to do this to raise money for blood cancer uk, a charity very close to my heart.

Every 40 minutes someone is diagnosed with lymphoma. It is the fifth most common cancer in the UK with more than 14,000 diagnoses every year (plus a further 3,000 per year for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), which despite its name is now clinically recognised as a form of lymphoma) all of which can effect any age group.

My dad was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in august 2019 and from then our world came crashing down around us and it’s never been the same since. My dad was the man that has always held our family together and who is the strongest person I have ever known, then had to face the toughest battle he will ever face finding out he has an incurable cancer, a moment that you wish you could erase from your memory but one you will never forget, yet still in that very moment he tried to comfort me and tell me that it wasn’t a bad outcome and the treatment was positive.

When I signed up for this challenge my dad was in remission from lymphoma, but since we have found out that this is sadly no longer the case and his cancer has returned, only giving him 12 months to recover before having to face the battle again.

He put up a strong fight and battled through his chemo even after a severe reaction to it that we thought he may never overcome and our fear of finding a treatment that would work became a real concern for us all, but his cancer specialist Dr Borg at Warwick hospital finally found a chemo his body could accept and after a year of battling through treatment we got the news we were all wishing for a result of removing 100% of his lymphoma, a result we never thought we would have but I wished would last for longer.

I want to raise money for Blood cancer uk to help support clinical trials and new treatments. I hope my dad can battle this again and with the new advances in treatment we can continue to wish for a cure in the future not just for my dad but for so many other people going through this heartbreaking situation.
