We can make a difference! Please join us!
The Harriet Tubman Middle School PTSA (Parent Teacher STUDENT Association) and community members are raising money to benefit the Harriet Tubman Community! Again! Let's keep up the momentum!
The donations of this campaign will go to support our rising 9th graders from HTMS and any donation will help make this happen. The goal is to raise $10,500+ which gives each of our 140 graduates 75.00 in support (at least). This support will support our rising stars as they ROLL into High School. We will support in the form of long-term school supplies, support for day to day navigation of High School, virtual mentor support to help supplement some of what they missed within the past school year, and also support for potential tech needs.
Money raised beyond our goal will go directly to current HTMS students to provide opportunities for empowerment. This includes funds for clubs and school supplies, and opportunities for virtual mentoring. This is an on ongoing need!
The HTMS PTSA is working with Whitney Rutz who raised over $52,000 for the Oregon Food Bank by baking giant cinnamon rolls for health care workers during the COVID crisis. She's now turned her attention towards supporting children in our collective communities affected by structural racism and now COVID-19, and she's chosen our PTSA to receive the money! In return, she and her team are going to bake a GIANT CINNAMON ROLL for each graduating 8th grader of Harriet Tubman Middle School. That's 140 rolls!
The HTMS PTSA would like to keep the momentum going with intentional projects, but this will require funding. We are excited to collaborate with Whitney and other community partners to create new solutions that will help our youth succeed. This is A solution, and we are happy to partner community members to do what is needed to be done for our youth!
How this works:
The rolls are a sweet treat for the kiddos so we can celebrate their milestone! It has been a turbulent year and our graduates from all areas have endured a lot and have accomplished a lot! Let's raise the morale!
A roll will be baked for an 8th grade graduate for every 75$ we raise.
Whitney and her team of bakers are donating all of their time and money to bake each kid a giant cinnamon roll. However, some vendors have donated ingredients.
Absolutely NONE of the money goes toward our time in this fundraiser. 100% volunteer led and 100% of proceeds will go directly to 9th grader risers and current HTMS students, and activities.
Rolls for Rolls is modeled after a fundraiser where Whitney and her crew baked over 100 rolls for health care workers during COVID, raising over $52,000 for the Oregon Food Bank.
Action and Progress! This is another way you can help. Thank you!
