Harriet’s rehabilitation journey.
Donation protected
Hi,
we are proud aunties to Harriet and would like to make this crowdfunding page on behalf of Kim and Jamie to help ease the money worries whilst Harriet continues to do amazing through her rehabilitation.
Alone we can do so little, Together we can do so much
Please see a message from Kim & Jamie below, any help you can give is appreciated.
Thank you,
Lorna and Lucy Richardson
‘On the 5th January 2023 our world came crashing down, Our beloved daughter, Harriet, suffered a seizure whilst in the bath.
Harriet was transferred to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where she remained in intensive care in a induced coma for 10 days. Despite the doctors best efforts Harriet sustained a hypoxic brain injury to her basal ganglia and marginally to her sight and memory.
Harriet still remains at John Radcliffe Hospital where we stay with her but will soon be moving to a specialist rehabilitation centre where she will continue rehab for several months, we will also live there with her.
Harriet will need to learn to walk, talk, sit up, stand, eat, drink and unfortunately even smile again so it’s been an incredibly hard journey for us as a family.
Despite being in this impossible situation the world continues around us, our house bills continue and unfortunately with the loss of all incomes this just seems impossible to keep afloat, we have been relying on our family savings which are fastly running dry. We was hoping to avoid crowdfunding all together but Harriet has several months of intense rehabilitation and still sometime before we are entitled to any help.
we would love to have the funds to be able to get Harriet further equipment and therapies that aren’t already offered from the NHS.
We have been inundated with support, it’s appreciated through our darkest moments more than we could ever explain.
Times are hard all round right now but acrowdfunding page has been asked time and time again by lots of very lovely people so if you are able to help at all we would be very grateful.
Thank you,
Kim, Jamie & Harriet Richardson’
