Harrison and I married in 2016 and almost immediately our vows of "in sickness and in health" were tested. Harrison was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder caused my several other conditions, and he began to have extensive nerve pain to the point where he was unable to work. We worked so hard for our marriage and for each other during that time and we're so proud of ourselves for working through it, as well as thankful for those that supported us in it.
In October, Harrison's nerve pain returned in a severe way, effecting his daily life with constant pain and difficulty getting around. Because his job is physical, he took a leave of absence hoping we could find some answers. So far, doctors don't have any for us and the people appointing any disability funds don't seem to like that. We've been to several doctors around the state with hopes to find the cause and we've finally (yay!) been referred to the Mayo Clinic. We're still waiting on an appointment date but we can't wait!
That brings us to our current situation. Since the disability hasn't been fully approved, Red Bull informed Harrison that they could no longer employ him. I would love for Harrison to be able to focus on getting better during this time. Unfortunately, we're simply drowning in bills at this point. The amount we have listed is about 3 months of our bare minimum basics and I hope that in that time, the doctors at Mayo would be able to find a way to help him with pain so he can work again.
We love our friends and family and if you know us, you know that asking for help is something I am incredibly terrible at. But Harrison reassured me that the love around us is what will get us through this. If you're able to send anything our way, we would be so thankful. But if all you can offer is some love and comforting words, we love you just as much for it.
