Harry Carter’s Memorial Fund

On August 22nd, 2000, God placed Harry Carter into this world because He knew that he was needed here. Harry was the type of man that if even met in passing, was a gift to those whose lives he touched. Harry had an inexplicable way about him which brightened a room with his contagious smile and charisma, and you were always glad to see him come and sad to see him go. He was the life of the party, as well as a shoulder to cry on; he was a hunting buddy, and he was a best friend. The list goes on and on with the things Harry was, for he was a great many things to a great many people; however one thing Harry IS and always will BE is one of the truest examples of a Kappa Alpha Gentleman that Gamma Eta chapter has ever had the distinct honor and privilege of calling its own; he personified reverance, chivalry, gentility, knowledge, and excellence. Though he was a member of Gamma Eta chapter for far too short a time, he surely made an immense impact on us all; and for that we are eternally thankful. We all would like to extend our most sincere gratitude and love to Harry’s family for raising him into the venerable young man he was, and for letting him be such an important part of our lives. Harry was truly a part of our family as he was yours. We wish you peace and comfort through the ardous task of mourning a son so spectacular. While the Lord has seen fit to call him home far too soon, it may just be the case that Harry was needed in Heaven just as he was here, because even angels need someone to make them laugh, make them feel loved, and make them know they have a true friend. We will never forget you Harry, and your memory and legacy lives on in all of our hearts, minds, and souls, as well as the future of the chapter. Thank you for being our friend and brother through the good times, the bad times, and everything inbetween. May a merciful God rest your soul and assuage the suffering and heartbreak of your family, friends, and us, your brothers. Until the day we meet again, go rest high on that mountain.
