After spending Thanksgiving with the rest of the Newman clan, Harry Newman began to experience chest pains that grew increasingly worse. After a few days of hoping it would go away, he finally decided he needed to drive himself to the ER because he knew something was wrong. We are so glad that he did! After running many tests the doctors confirmed that he had over a 95% blockage and was lucky to be alive! They told him the minimum needed was a triple bi-pass surgery, and would not know until they started surgury if a quadrupal bi-pass would be necessary.
While he awaited surgery at the hospital he was advised to try to relax and not stress about the pending surgury. Now that would be close to impossible for anyone to not worry about a major surgury like that, but what if you also were in between jobs? Harry is currently looking for a job, but hadn't found something that was the right fit, and now knows it will be quite some time before he is even able to interview for a new job, let alone actually work.
As his family, we want him to focus on getting better, not on the mounting bills. At this point we don't know how much all the medical bills will be, what we do know is that there will be bills. We know he won't be able to work for awhile, and know that growing bills and no income equals stress. We also know that stress is the very thing he is supposed to be avoiding.
We want not only to give Harry a gift of help with his bills, but also to know that there are many, many family members and friends that love and care for him, and that he is not in this alone.
Sometimes something in life happens that reminds us how little control we have of our lives, everything can change in an instant. Our money, our jobs, our good health are all gifts from God. But when everything is going wrong, and we feel like we no longer have control, that is when God can show his love through people around us the most. Every dollar donated will be a tangible way we can show Harry we are here for him, and that he is not doing this alone.
