And yet, the modern world in which we live was shaped by President Truman.

The founding of the United Nations. Creation of NATO. Atomic Weapons. Israel & Palestine. Russia. Communist China. The U.S. Defense Department. The CIA. Desegregation of the U.S. military. The first presidential commission on Civil Rights. The modern Democratic and Republican parties. Our world order in the 21st century was shaped during Harry Truman's time in the White House.

Today, our world faces the worst military and economic challenges since the end of WWII, since Truman served in office. Amid such trials, we can benefit from the integrity, the humility, the wisdom and homespun wit of President Harry S. Truman.
