Hartford Caddie Fund

In today’s time we recognize the need to help others. This is a special letter of help directly asking for consideration of our caddies who are not employees but are independent workers (Contractors), most of whom are not eligible for unemployment benefits or the additional $600 supplement! We all know they help make our club a special place whether you take a caddie or not. Today they are all feeling the financial strain even more because they cannot earn the extra dollars to take care of self or family. Our request is simple to all golf members, THEY NEED YOUR HELP!  Thus, we are setting up the Hartford Caddie Fund to help ease the effect of the financial burden they are all facing. We are asking for a minimum contribution of $100 and of course would appreciate more as we have set a goal of $50,000. As a guideline consider how many times you might use a caddie during the next several months of normal play and use that as your contribution towards the goal. The Supporters of the Caddie Fund plan to distribute these funds by May 1. THANK YOU for considering this request and for supporting the initiative.

At the request of a few donors we offer the following:

Supporters of the Caddie Fund are all members of The Hartford Golf Club. Each of us have and will continue to utilize caddies when HGC re-opens.
The 15 members of this group have already started to identify those regular shift caddies that will partake in this. Both Richard Bray and Dave (our new caddie master) have also weighed in on the list of recipients. We envision the dollars being divided up equally among those caddies on the list and given out incrementally starting May 1st. Not all at once. The timing of payments and the number of payments made will be strongly dependent on how much we raise.
