Brendan Burke-Recovery Fund

During a special trip to Hawaii with high school friends and their wives, Brendan suffered a life altering accident while body surfing in the ocean. Tragically he fractured his neck, but miraculously he is expected to recover. He was airlifted to Oahu and has successfully made it to the other side of two significant surgeries; however, he remains in in the hospital. Annie, his wife, is still in Hawaii at his side and family and friends are rotating to be of comfort and support.

It is hard to fathom how one can navigate this type of journey far from home. It is with amazing strength and courage that Brendan and Anne are making it through each day. Annie, family and friends are maneuvering health care system, providing support for Brendan and managing through the worry and complex information from the hospital while laying the course for their accommodations, absence from work, care of children, meals, rental car, travel and the list goes on.

Brendan’s family and friends have received numerous requests from so many wanting to know how to help. The Burke’s community stretches far and wide. Family and friends, their schools, church, and the kid’s sports teams have all been steady in their desire to help. Our hope is that we can funnel all that love into this account to ease their financial burden.

Brendan has many milestones he needs to get through and he is aware it will be a long haul. He is motivated through the love coming his way and it is keeping Annie strong too. Also in typical Brendan fashion, the hospital support reports he is one of their star patients and is VERY motivated by humor!
