Harvey and June

Introducing Harvey and June.

Harvey is a 17 year old cairn terrier. He’s been with his mum June since he was a puppy having been rescued by Junes husband. He bought Harvey home after being told by his owners they were planning to tie bricks round him and throw him in the river. Harvey followed his new owner round until he sadly passed away over 9 years ago leaving Harvey to look after June. Ever since it has just been the two of them. They live in a supported residential flat where June spends all of her time not being able to leave the flat. Harvey has always enjoyed three walks a day until his age finally caught up with him. He has one walk a day now with one of Junes dear friends and another resident of the building. Harvey is loved by all he meets. He’s such a sweet old boy and his mum adores him. At 86 years old June is devoted to him. She has very few people she can rely on. Unfortunately, Harvey’s health has recently deteriorated and we know we are spending his final days with him. He’s a fighter and continues to wake up each and every day.

June adores her little boy and is dreading the day she has to say goodbye. Unfortunately, a decision must be made at some point and if he doesn’t go peacefully in his sleep, Junes wish is to have him PTS at home. This will be less stressful for Harvey as he can be with his mum when he passes and will mean she can be with him to comfort him as she can’t leave the flat. However, this is a pricey thing to do. We are hoping to raise £300 towards the cost of this so June can have her wishes and we can have him returned to her afterwards. We would greatly appreciate your help with this.
