Have You Seen My Saxophone?
"HAVe You seen my SaxaPhone?
It was lost September 18 between 7:20 and 8:00 A.M. If I can not find it, my family has to pay 1,800 to my school, which we can not afford. So please If you have seen it, please contact us, If you stole it, we will not get angry, we would appreciate it!"
So reads the Wanted bulletin posted in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
Fans of the podcast My Favorite Murder decided to start this fundraiser to help support this neighborhood student and his family. The thought of not being able to cover the cost is stressful and frustrating enough, let alone the guilt, frustration, and all the horrible feelings that come with making mistakes - or being the victim of a crime. Now compound that by the fact that it's being felt by a child, a child with an interest in the arts and music - a field already being torn to shreds by budget cuts and public opinion.
All funds will be coordinated with and transferred to the phone number listed on the bulletin.
I set this for an extra $200 to negate any charges taken out by credit card companies or money transfers. If the "saxaphone" is recovered, the money will be given to the family to buy their child a personal sax to keep at home.
