Hawayek & Baker: 2018-2019 Season
Donation protected
We are Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker, the 2018 Four Continents Ice Dance Champions. We are members of Team USA and are pursuing our dream of representing the United States at the 2019 World Championships in Saitama, Japan and the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. This last season brought much success, culminating with a top-ten finish at our first World Championships.
We have made some major changes in the off-season! We are now training in Montreal, Quebec. We are incredibly excited to be joining Marie France and Patrice and their team at Gadbois and starting this next chapter of our careers. We have been hard at work creating beautiful new programs for this season and will be very excited to share them with all of you!
Training at this level is a full-time commitment. In the past we both worked part-time jobs, in addition to our full-time training, to help offset our expenses. Now, living in Canada, we cannot work to support our training. Unfortunately, the funding we receive from our federation only covers a small portion of our training expenses and the reality is, we have to rely on the sacrifices our parents are making and the generosity of supporters like you to make our dreams possible.
Our training includes an entire package of coaching, choreography, ice time, strength and conditioning, ballet and ballroom dance. Our expenses also include costumes, equipment and travel. In addition to our training expenses, we both have substantial living expenses since we are living away from our homes and families. Our training expenses alone are daunting... approximately $80,000 a year.
Your sponsorship of our training directly impacts our success!! We are deeply grateful for your generosity.

Sincerely, Kaitlin and Jean-Luc
Our Freedance at the 2018 U.S. Championships earned a standing ovation and a personal best score -
